Nk’Mip Cellars

First Nations' First in Wine

Nk’Mip Cellars (pronounced in-ka-meep) is North America’s first Aboriginal owned and operated winery.

We were honoured to have been part of this acclaimed brand and worked with the Osoyoos Indian Band to capture the cultural authenticity and deep historic roots in the Okanagan Valley.

Not on the Radar

The original brief was to create a brand identity for the new winery that extended from the name to the labels and packaging. Originally thought to be too difficult to pronounce, we convinced their team to leverage the uniqueness of their name and call it Nk’Mip.

Extending a Proud Legacy

Highlighting the strength, mysticism and pride of the rich First Nations heritage in the design of the packaging, our visual design language was subsequently rolled out across the winery and visitation centre.

Nk’Mip is a beautiful award-winning winery and a unique success story for British Columbia. Be sure to visit if you’re in the area.
